Kenyans jailed in Uganda for illegal possession of guns

In the northeastern province of Moroto in Uganda, a military court has sentenced 32 citizens of Kenya to 10 years in prison.

They were found guilty of illegally possessing both ammunition and firearms, crimes that might have been tried in a Ugandan military court.

The penalties have been verified by Col. Deo Akiiki, the deputy army spokesperson for Uganda.

The punishment for each offense is a 10-year prison sentence, and the court decided that the convicted must serve their terms side by side.

All of the Kenyans live in the neighboring Lodwar district.

They entered their own guilty plea and were found guilty; they will serve their terms in the government jail at Moroto.
