Kenyan MP-elect surrenders to police over shooting

Dimas Barasa, a recently re-elected politician in Kenya, has turned himself into police after being on the lam for three days in connection with the shooting and death of an opponent's assistant.

Mr. Barasa is being investigated by the police as a suspect in the incident that occurred at a polling place on election day.

According to authorities, he is presently assisting with investigations.

The Kimilili constituency of Mr. Barasa is located in western Kenya, close to the Ugandan border.

His attorney had submitted a request for bail until his arrest on Thursday.
