Jaman North Residents want gov't to seize excavators for other purpose and not burn them
Residents of Jaman North District are appealing to the government to use alternative venture to address the seized excavators to beneficial to the communities where the canker has been dominating.

Some residents in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region says the burning of seized excavators by the military team in the Ghana Armed Forces is not the best approach in combating illegal mining.
According to them, utilizing the excavators seized from illegal miners could present part of the solution dredging the drains in municipalities that struggle annually with floods than setting them ablaze.
They further explained that the seized excavators can be equally rented out to generate revenue income for the state and the affected communities.
They however want the seized equipment to be used for an alternative venture which would be beneficial to the communities where the canker has been dominating.
