John Dramani Mahama has said that he harbours no hard feelings towards Sarkodie and Samini after the rappers endorsed his major opposition, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in their latest respective tracks.

The Ex-president said that the decision is a personal one and he still has respect for both artistes regardless.

He made this known an interaction on Starr FM, November 3, 2020.

"I don’t have any antipathy or anger with anybody who endorses Nana Addo. That’s their decision,” he noted.

He then went to state that he admires the work that they both have done so far and that nothing will change in the way he sees them.

“I like them, they’re young talented musicians and my attitude towards them doesn’t change. Samini has been somebody that I like…and so if he’s endorsed Nana Addo it doesn’t change my attitude towards him.”

"Musicians will make music for you and all that but it doesn’t really amount to an endorsement, we don’t understand some of these things. In Ghana when a musician makes music for you or a political party then he comes against a lot of antipathy from the supporters of the other party, that shouldn’t be the case,” he said.

Sarkodie had earlier backed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for a second term in office in this year’s elections.

He embedded his words of support in the track, 'Happy Days', in which he featured Vodafone Ghana Music Award's Artist of the Year, Kuami Eugene.

'The Highest' said that Akufo-Addo has implemented a number of good policies that are benefitting all Ghanaians, he should be strongly considered for a second term in office.

“We all spoke against the dumsor (erratic power supply) and the high inflation rate and so if these have been solved at the moment with Ghanaians also enjoying free SHS, then all I can say is that Nana Akufo-Addo should continue for another four years,”

Samini also endorsed President Akufo-Addo for a second term in his song titled Kpoyaka in which he catalogued the achievements of the president ranging from the agric, service, manufacturing and industry sectors of the economy.

“Nana show boy is number one on the ballot, Nana continues with the work because you have delivered,” Samini said.
