Kylian Mbappe has acknowledged teammate Neymar for his influence on his career after joining the PSG dressing room.

The pair have been versatile in Paris Saint Germain’s successes since arriving from the former clubs into the French capital in 2017.

Neymar joined from Barcelona in a world transfer record of €222 million as Mbappe after an initial loan with the Ligue 1 champions was signed as the world’s second most expensive player for €180 million.

According to him, sharing a dressing room with world icons was challenging but Neymar was there to help him adjust and enjoy his game.

"To be honest, away from those arrogant kid traits, I'll never forget how he helped me at the start," Mbappe said of the Brazilian to French Football reported by Marca.

"When you're 18 and you come into a big dressing room, it's never easy.

"In these great teams, 60 per cent of your success depends on your football and the other 40 per cent on how you acclimatize to the dressing room. He helped me and I'll never forget it."

He attributed all the successes of PSG since their arrival to Neymar saying he is the fulcrum of the Mauricio Pochettino’s side and any achievement made personally is because of the Brazilian.

"I've always thought that great players were made to play together - and that's clear between us two.

"Our roles were established when I arrived in Paris: Neymar is the centre of the project and I'm here to help him.

"[This is] because when I arrived at PSG, I was only an emerging star and I had to prove myself on the pitch."

Mbappe is engineering a move away from the Parc de Princess after the current season having earlier made his intentions known of preferring a new challenge outside France.

Although the club is in talks for a contract extension, with his current deal expiring in 2022 yet Liverpool and Real Madrid are on alert on the player’s words.
