The Assembly Member for Heman Mpatia Electoral Area in the Ashanti Region, Honourable James Sarfo, has blamed the media for poor publicity and recognition of father's day celebration.
He said the media has over the past years over- hyped mother's day celebration than father's day, believing this has contributed to its feeble patronage.
Mr. James Sarfo urged parents to take full responsibility of their children and give them quality care since they will be judged in accordance with how they treat their families.
"I think we need to hype the father's day as we do to that of mother's day. However, I will entreat all fathers(parents) to see to it that they cater for every single soul they bring on earth since we shall face judgement on how we treat our children", he emphasized.
"One major factor which contribute to poor parenting is divorce. I want to take this opportunity to call on the youth to prepare very well before they enter into marriage to avoid unwanted divorce and others," he noted.
