Gyakie has vowed to not let her newfound celebrity status affect her studies.

The Afrobeats and Highlife singer who is an undergraduate student studying International Business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) maintained that although it is difficult to combine, she will make sure to manage her time and prioritise her studies over everything else.

“I won’t tell you a lie, it’s very difficult to combine schooling and being an artist. The thing is once your market is getting bigger as an artist, then things are getting tough in the sense of your focus."

“I can’t just sit behind a book and learn without thinking about music or some beats so it’s quite difficult. Because even if you sit in the classroom and your mind is on music it’s tough so I won’t lie to you it’s not easy at all,”

“But I have resolved and told myself that definitely I’m going to complete my education and so I’m doing my best to make sure that I will surely graduate.”She stated.

She further asserted that she has everything it takes to bag all the 3 nominations she has erased at the upcoming VGMA's.

“I was very excited when the nominations came out, I mean last year I was nominated for the unsung category at the VGMA21,” Gyakie said on Kastle Entertainment Show.

“So if another year has come by and still I have been recognized in the VGMA then I’m very proud of myself, I’m super excited,”

“In all the 3 categories that I got nominations at the VGMA, I feel that I have the potential to win so whichever one I take home I will be very elated,” she declared.

“In the recently held 3Music Awards I was adjudged as the award winner for the emerging woman of the year,” She concluded.
