Let’s Settle the Infrastructure Debate 'Once and For All' – Mahama challenges Akufo-Addo

The Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama says he is ready to engage in a debate with the Akufo-Addo Government to determine whose government performed well when it comes to Ghana’s infrastructural development.

This follows a presentation by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who said the current government has done more infrastructural projects at costs comparatively less than the erstwhile Mahama government.

But Mahama says, a debate will settle the long standing issue over whether the Akufo-Addo-led government has performed well than his (Mahama's) past government.

Mr Mahama who is currently in the Volta Region campaigning said he "is willing to debate the government any day, anywhere, anytime" over infrastructure and that the debate will settle the debate over infrastructure "once and for all."

He noted that, the roads being constructed are there for Ghanaians to see unlike the 'Green book' (NDC's book documenting projects undertaken by them under the Mahama government) which he suggested were not backed by evidence of work done.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Essiama-Nkroful-Telekubokazo road, in the Ellembelle constituency, President Akufo-Addo expressed his delight that “it is under my time as President that the road leading to Nkroful (hometown of Kwame Nkrumah) is about to be constructed.
