Press conference

A section of the Techiman North New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth have condemned an earlier press conference calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to reappoint Honourable Peter Mensah Kumbeso as their District Chief Executive (DCE).

Reacting to that press conference, the Techiman North Presbyterian school polling station secretary, Mr Owusu Atta Clement has called on the general public and prayed to the first gentleman of the state to treat the earlier press conference with the contempt it deserves.

Addressing the media, he said, Hon. Peter Mensah contributed his quota to the party during the 2020 general elections.

According to him, Hon. Kumbeso took an active part in the campaign by purchasing five motorcycles and fuelling them for campaigning purposes. They told he also paid for airtime at various radio stations within Techiman and Wenchi to sell the NPP manifesto and the then NPP Parliamentary candidate, Hon. Martin Oti Gyarko.

Mr Owusu Clement, also made mention of the fact that the Techiman North acting DCE during the campaign donated an amount of GHc 500 to some NPP members in some communities within Techiman North to boost their morale for campaigning for the NPP.

According to the NPP youth, Hon. Peter Mensah Kumbeso's ability to maintain the serenity and peace of Techiman North is enough for them to plead to Nana Addo to reappoint him as the DCE of Techiman North.
