Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh Donates 200 bags of cement to support Museum construction

The Museum will cover every aspects of the Ashanti cultural records, and give a detailed background on what Manwere stands for.

The Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has donated 200 bags of cement to the Otumfuo Manwerehene to support the building of Museum on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in the Ashanti Region

The Museum according to Otumfuo Manwerehene, Nana Yamoah Gyamfi, the Museum when completed will cover every aspect of the Ashanti cultural records, highlighting more on the background of Manwere.

 

 

The Affairs Officer, Office of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Nana Kodie Abebrese did the donation on behalf of the Educational Minister to the Kyeame of Manwerehene, Nana Yamoah Gyamfi as a fulfilment of a promise made to support the worthy course of Asanteman.

According to Nana Abebrese, a petition was made by the Otumfuo Manwerehene to the Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to assist in the construction of the museum, which would depict the rich contents of Asante and Manwere to the entire world.

 

 

He revealed that due to the educational benefit youth and the entire world will receive when the project is done, the Minister deemed it beneficial to support the worthy course.

“The Otumfuo Manwerehene petitioned the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South to back him in building a Museum which will capture Asanteman and Manwere’s history. Honorable (Mathew Opoku Prempeh) was pleased and has strengthened the progress of the project with 200 bags of cement.

“He is an education Minister and per his role to promote learning in the country, he saw the benefits the Youth will gain hence the motivation to support,” he added.

The Kyeame of the Manwerehene accepted the items and appreciated the Minister’s efforts to support such a project in the absence of his superior who was on a trip. He explained that Manwere is “the heart of Asanteman” and so the Manwerehene enacts any activity, which has to do with Asanteman.

 

 

“I want to use this channel to thank the Education Minster for what he has done. We are very grateful”, he said.

Nana Abebrese took the opportunity and called on corporate bodies to come to their aid in putting up the building to serve Asanteman.
