Jordan Henderson could miss the rest of the season due to injury.

The 30-year-old was forced from the field in the 29th minute of the Anfield defeat by Everton and will undergo further assessment on Sunday.

The Reds captain could also miss the Euro 2020 following reports by the Sun that surgery could be the only option for the 30-year old which will rule him out for 12 weeks and no return until late May.

Although the player is yet to find out whether operation is necessary yet if surgery is ruled out, he could be out for a few games.

Jurgen Klopp after the Reds 2-0 loss to the Toffees in the Merseyside derby at Anfield revealed that the captain’s injury doesn’t look good.

“It’s the groin/adductor region and nobody in the medical department was positive about it.

“It doesn’t look good, but we have to wait, of course, for the scan tomorrow, hopefully.”

Henderson hurt means two key Liverpool players have been victims to injuries in Merseyside derby home and away this season - Virgil van Dijk and the Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson.
