Weapons in the Northwest At least 50 villagers were kidnapped from a community in Nigeria's Katsina State.

The attackers, according to Bakiyawa locals, rode in on motorcycles in the middle of the night.

They then started shooting, leaving one person dead and at least seven others injured.

According to a police spokesperson, security officers and the highly armed militants engaged in combat. However, they were unable to stop the kidnappings.
