Gold Track SHS 2 Students to Return Home Tomorrow

Students on the second-year Gold Track of Senior High Schools (SHS) will return home tomorrow, July 31, 2020.

However, senior high schools that have recorded positive cases of COVID-19 will have their vacation delayed for assessment and observation before they can be released.

This is according to a joint-statement by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Ghana Health Service (GHS)

.In the statement jointly signed by the Director General of GES, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, and Director General of GHS, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, GES and GHS said the students have gone through their programmes successfully.

GES and GHS set some guidelines for the form 2 gold track students due to return home.

 

GUIDELINES

For the 2nd year Gold students due to return home, the following guidelines should apply:

1. Any school where no positive case of COVID-19 has been recorded, the students can vacaTe and go game.

2. Any school that had a positive case but has not reported any new positive case within the last two weeks, the students can vacate and go home.

3. Any school that had a positive case within the last two weeks, all contacts within the GOLD track will have their vacation delayed for assessment and observation before they can be allowed to go on vacation and parents of such students will be notified.

 

It would be recalled that the students reported to school on June 22, 2020.

Some 14 SHS's recorded cases of of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after the students reported to school.

The schools include, Mawuli SHS, Mawuko Girls' SHS, Bishop Herman College, Dabala Technical School, Accra Girls SHS, Archbishop Porter Girls, Ahantaman Girls, Diabene and Adiembra SHS, Nsein SHS, Konongo Wesley SHS, Odorgonno SHS, Mfantsiman Girls SHS and Suhum Senior High Technical School (STHS).
