GNAPS Celebrates Its first Annual Week Festival in Tain.

As most of the private schools in Ghana celebrates the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) week; that is a week for most of the private schools to celebrate and to engage in so many activities like seminars, indoor games, clean up exercises, donations etc. to commemorate their academic performance enrollment.

As most of the private schools in Ghana celebrate the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) week; which is a week for most private schools to celebrate and engage in so many activities like seminars, indoor games, clean-up exercises, donations, etc. to commemorate their academic performance enrollment.

On Thursday, July 14, 2022, various schools from the Nsawkaw zone, in the Tain District of Bono Region launched their first GNAPS WEEK.

Mrs. Ayamga Mary, the Chairperson of the GNAPS in the Tain District explained the importance of every private school in part of the association and its significant disparity in education on academic performances in contribution to the development of education in the country.

The theme for the week's celebration; _Challenges of Education, the Role of Private School in the 21st Century’’._

Mrs. Ayamga spoke of the importance and the need of addressing the steeper challenges in the private schools since they are gradually driving the economic world Ghana is no exception.

The week had various activities including a route march to officially launch the week on the streets of Nsawkaw, the capital of Tain District; held poem competitions, dramas, football games, etc.
 
In her address to Appiah Kubi, the Anopa Nkomo show host in an interview, the GNAPS Chairperson indicated that the national chat of academic performance contributes a lot to the GNAPS, therefore urging the government to reconsider the discriminatory and uneven distribution of 30 percent priority allocation of the grade 'A' SHS admissions to public schools since it Will be a disadvantage to students in private schools.

She bemoaned that since the coronavirus pandemic, private schools are recording lower student enrollment with the effects of 'discriminatory' policies in the education system.

"I don't know why if a private school student passes an examination to enroll in the secondary school, they'll ask to write entrance exams, this is cheating and discriminatory, we the private schools pay taxes and contribute to educational developments", she bemoaned.
