Ryan Giggs will not be in charge of Wales next week during the international period.

The Wales manager has agreed with the Football Association to step aside as his side take on the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland.

His assistant, Robert Page will take over from the former Manchester United player in their two Nations League tournament and a friendly game.

” The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp,” read a statement from the FAW.

“Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches. Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.

A press conference was supposed to be held on Tuesday to announce the squad for the three matches yet the Association has postponed it to Thursday.

“The Cymru squad for these upcoming matches will be announced on Thursday 5th November. The FAW will not be making any further comment at this current time,” the statement added.

Giggs was arrested last Sunday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend but was released on bail pending further enquiries, the Sun reported.

A statement released on behalf of Giggs revealed that he is cooperating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigation.
