GES Sacks 27 Teachers Over Fake Certificates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has withdrawn the services of some twenty-seven (27) teachers from the classroom for the North East Region.

A statement released by the GES in the North East Region has sacked some classroom teachers over fake appointment letters.

According to the GES, such teachers claimed they have been appointed and posted to schools within the municipality which further checks indicated their claims were false.

In a statement signed by Mr. Simon Anane Amokase, the North East Regional Education Directorate indicates that GES attention has been drawn to the fact that some teachers in the region have been using fake appointment letters.

The GES said there was no documentation indicating such teachers were employed and posted to the supposed schools.

"The attention of the Regional Director has been drawn to the fact that the list of teachers attached who claimed to have been appointed and posted to some schools in your districts are fake and should be withdrawn immediately from the classroom.”

In explaining the issue, the North East Regional Educational Directorate revealed that the confirmation was made at the Human Resource Unit of the Ghana Education Service Headquarters in Accra upon request for verification from the North East Regional Education Directorate in Walewale.
