The Three Lions boss, Gareth Southgate is a top contender for the Tottenham Hotspurs job according to the Telegraph.

Ajax head coach, Eric ten Hag, Ralf Ragnick and Brendan Rodgers are also been considered by Daniel Levy as the replacement for Jose Mourinho after his sack last week.

With the Euro 2020 coming up in the summer, it is unlikely that Gareth Southgate will give up his post as he is keen to lead England to the 2022 World Cup in Dubai.

The 50-year old’s working relationship with Harry Kane could be a factor in his pursuit as reports claim he could be leave in search of top trophies.

Southgate could also be the key to convince Harry Kane to stay in the London club after missing out on another opportunity to end their 13-year trophy drought when they lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Sunday by a goal to nill at Wembley.

Tottenham were responsive to bring Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig to England but Bayern has swiftly agreed a deal with German following the departure of Hans Flick in the summer.
