A former administrator of Bono Regional hospital, Dr Jacob Kwadwo Amponsah Abebrese, at the weekend organized a free health screening exercise for residents of Penkwase.

Some of the beneficiaries were screened for various illnesses including hypertension, hepatitis B, malaria, while others enjoyed free NHIS registration and renewals.

Dr Abebrese said the outreach was aimed at providing the community with easy access to quality medical care so they would remain productive to help accelerate the development of the area.

The programme coincided with the launch of D. K. Abebrese Memorial Medical Center located at Penkwase high tension.

The facility has the necessary medical equipment to provide quality health care and specializes in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) treatment.

Dr Abebrese, a deputy director of the Ghana Health Service and an ENT specialist at the Greater Accra regional hospital called on the people to patronize the facility to enjoy quality health care.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the former administrator for the kind gesture extended to them.
