Everton forward, Richarlison has sparked more feud in the Merseyside derby set to be honored on Sunday.

The 23-year old has challenged that Virgil van Dijk is not the best defender in the world as people speculate, claiming that there are three other best defenders than the Dutchman.

According to the Brazilian, the fact that he has dribbled past the European Best player ceases for him to be pronounced as the finest in Premier League and world football at large.

Richarlison was on the score sheet at Anfield when the two sides met in December and were humiliated by 5-2 at Anfield.

Van Dijk was versatile in the game and has been resourceful since joining the Reds. He scored his first Premier League goal in the derby last season at Anfield before Liverpool lost the League by a point to Manchester City. He finished in the top three of the Ballon d’Or and is the FIFA Best defender.

He is the current holder of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Award and boasts of a Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup medals.

"People talk a lot about him, yes he is a great defender but I’ve already dribbled past him," Richarlison said of Van Dijk in an interview with Desimpedidos.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will recommence their 2019-2020 football campaign against the Toffees and a win for them will require another to crown them Champions after over 30 years without a PL trophy.

According to the youngster, Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and a few are preferred by him than the Netherland captain.

"He was chosen as one of the top three in the world as he had an excellent season. But yes, for me there are better defenders."

Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos," Richarlison said.
