Hammer has asked artistes to take their minds off the Grammy Awards as it is not a measure of success.

Artistes should focus more on making good music for Ghanaians, he noted.

According to him, while making their craft better with new songs, artistes open themselves up to better opportunities in the long run.

Why are people talking about the Grammys like it's easy to get? There are thousands of songs and the whole continent is crumbling for just one category,” he said, adding that:” It's not something they should look up to. I think they should make great music and when they are wired around the world and on a big label, they will find themselves at the Grammys”.

”The structures are wrong and we are not going to wait for somebody to vote us into power before we educate people,” he said.

This he said in a phone interview on Class91.3FM's.

His assertion matches with that of Mugeez, who stated that Grammy Awards should not be used a yardstick to judge African music.

Mugeez, who is a Member of the award-winning music group R2Bees, reiterated this by saying that although the Grammy Awards is a prestigious award that every African artiste would like to get, it should not be used to judge the success of an African artiste as it is incapable of accurately profiling the depth of African music majorly because it's an international award.

"For the last time Grammy no fit judge African Music.” He noted.

“I go carry Grammy boss enter bimbila then Boliga..... After we go knack am small Kpanlogo! Ego Confuse .. that’s just a dot in gh .. enter another African zone .. e go conf!”

He admonished his colleagues, asking them to make music they can be proud of instead of focusing too much on winning a white man's award just like Hammer has said.

“Oya makes we de do our music de happy de go ????????????✌???? am asleep in my sleep Kwraa ????,” he captioned a video," he concluded.
