Focus On Formulating Pragmatic Economic  Policies To Secure  Future Of Ghanaians  ...NPP Top Shot Advises Ghana's Economic Managers

An executive member of the ruling  New Patriotic Party (NPP) who also doubles as a financier in Tain Constituency in the Bono Region, Hon. Afful Manu Benjamin has urged the managers of economics to remain focused on implementing pragmatic economic policies to secure the future of this country.
This, he said would enhance the growth of the country into the attainment of economic independence.
He made the remarks in an interview recently on Tain FM monitored by Soireenews.com zeroing in the impact of importation.
Mr. Benjamin who doubles as the Star of Africa Montessori Academy proprietor maintained that Ghana needs conciliatory agenda to help boost the local industries.  
He noted that the said conciliatory agenda was needed to reduce the deficit of importations.
The financier justified the government's idea of introducing a beach mark value which he said was aimed at encouraging the growth of local industries through lowering importations.
“When the raw materials are processed in the country, the importations of those goods will stop and the local industries will take advantage of it," Mr. Benjamin further said in an interview with Tain FM Anopa Nkomo.
He stressed, “We need laws that will back taxes on importation as the country is aiming to move from importation to production.”
He observed that the country would benefit from the raw material and that could lead to establishing the local industries.  
“Everything at a start faces difficulties but with time, the more we are producing the will be a stand to reduce more of imports. Sometimes I get worried when I look around and see raw materials that we have which are wasting away but we cannot make them productive,” he further lamented.  
According to him, the policy of producing local goods with the establishment of one district one factory would generate a massive source of employment to the youth while at the same time, the value of raw materials would go up.
Mr. Benjamin, therefore maintained that when Ghana begin the production of goods, importation of same would reduce making Ghana self-reliant.
