A final year student of Suhum Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) in the Eastern Region has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for threatening to kill a teacher in the school.

The student, whose name withheld for a purpose recorded a video of himself switch to weapons and threatened to cut off the head of the teacher for punishing him for misconduct.

The prosecutor narrated that the teacher formerly lodged a complaint at the Suhum Police station, after which the final year student was arrested during class hours.

However, the young man was processed and arraigned before the Suhum Circuit Court, where he was unfortunately found guilty and convicted to two years imprisonment.

The Suhum Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Owusu, confirmed the arrest and prosecution of the student to media this afternoon in a press briefing.

The Public Relations Officer of Suhum Municipal Directorate of Education Service (GES) Benjamin Kudjo has declined to comment on the final year student sentenced but narrated that the GES is aware of the arrest of the student, but has not officially been updated on the court proceedings.
