The Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency, Honourable Sulemana Adama says the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) is needed to provide the country's needed data on its development deficit.

Sensitizing his constituents on the importance of the census to nation-building, the Honorable MP explained that, the census is for fiscal planning, human capital developments and the development of the country at large, which he urged all citizens to provide accurate information required of them.

He also appealed to citizens to give a comprehensive foundational database for developmental planning and decision-making in the country, adding that, data collection is a major scientific exercise that is apolitical and beyond partisanship.

Speaking to the media he said, the 2021 population and housing census should provide the country with the economic and demographic characteristics and dynamics to form the foundation for a restructuring of the country's economy, hence advises each and everyone to be counted.

The MP said, this modernization census has a huge budget, and he is looking for the GSS to come out with the expected account.

He concluded that everyone should be cooperative in order to achieve the best for the country.
