According to the drivers and passengers of Afram Plains ferry, the fares are exorbitant and they cannot bear it any further hence there should be a reduction as soon as possible.

Passengers and drivers who use Afram Plains ferry are complaining bitterly about the high charges of fares on the use of the ferry for transportation and are calling for reduction now. 


According to the drivers and passengers of Afram Plains ferry, the fares are exorbitant and they cannot bear it any further hence there should be a reduction as soon as possible. 

As it has come to the general public in the reduction of fuel prices across the country while various drivers have reduced their fares but at the Afram Plains ferry station, the prices for passengers remain the same and have rather increased the fares from Ghc 5.00 to Ghc 7.00 per passenger which they are demanding reduction on the fares.

The passengers and drivers have therefore appealed to the Volta River Authority to do something about the fares to reduce the prices of the farry transportation on the volta lake. 

Some of the drivers also complained of the goods and carriage fares which they were not charging previously but has been introduced. 

The drivers said, it seems they are cheating them because they pay for their car fares including their goods and their transportation fares.

They explained that, the conductors in the ferry charge Ghc10.00 per goat and therefore appealed to government and Volta River Authority to help intervene to reduce the fare for them to enable easy accessibility of the Afram Plains ferry.
