Eastern Region: Adeiso Madina Residents Cry For Social Amenities

The inhabitants of Adeiso Madina in the Upper West Akim Constituency of the Eastern Region have expressed worry over the lack of toilet facilities and potable drinking water in the area, thus calling on authorities to come to their aid to alleviate their suffering as people.

The inhabitants of Adeiso Madina in the lack of toilet facilities and potable drinking water in the areagion have expressed worry over lack of toilet facilities and potable drinking water in the area, thus calling on authorities to come to their aid to alleviate their suffering as people.

According to the residents, the lack of lavatories in the area has forced them to attend to nature’s call in the bush or in black polythene bags, which they later dispose of at the communal dumpsite, a situation that threatens the health of the community.

Despite persistent appeals to opinion leaders and the Assembly on the urgent need to provide basic amenities in their community especially toilet facilities and potable drinking water, nothing has been done to alleviate our plight in the area, the residents lamented.

Speaking with the residents, they said "we lack potable water and toilet facility and smashing such people defecate anyhow, causing another problem for us".

The however lamented that, the present leadership of the Assembly has not carried out any developmental projects in the area which they have been captured for any project and blamed them for their slow pace of undertaking projects to support the people in the area.

According to the Assembly man at Adeiso Madina Hon. Samuel Atitiso, explained that, it is not easy to control the people to keep the place neat but he is doing his best with his team to make the area clean.

He added that, they have taken notes of the problems facing the community and soon they will start solve the situation by building a toilet project for the betterment of the community.

He described their biggest problem facing them at Adeiso Madina is lack of toilets and water for his people which he continued that, "we have no toilet facility and potable drinking water in this town"

The absence of a toilet facility and potable drinking water in this community has worsened the situation for the people living in this area.

Hon. Samuel Atitiso urged the government and DCE Hon. Eugene Sackey to deem it necessary to focus on the rapid infrastructural development in the community to address their problems to assist the community in constructing a new toilet facility and boreholes for the people.
