Chelsea have become the first Premier League team since West Ham in February 2011 to avoid defeat after trailing by 3 or more goals at half-time.

Frank Lampard did not surrender after three first-half goals from the Baggies – two from Robinson and Bartley before Mason, Hudson-Odoi and Abraham completed the comeback.

Frank Lampard gave Thiago Silva his Premier League debut and as captain – as Willy Caballero was named in the starting eleven at the expense of Kepa.

Tammy Abraham was put up front with Werner, Jorginho was dropped to the bench whiles Christensen’s arrival from suspension caught Zouma out.

On the side of West Brom, the suspended Gibbs was replaced by Townsend in the only change from the 5-2 defeat at Everton.

Robinson put the home side ahead in the 4th minute after a loose bit of defending from Chelsea. Alonso's sloppy header infield allowed Pereira to feed Robinson out wide left. He beautifully drove into the box on the left and having the angle closed, he superbly hit the ball with his left foot into the bottom right corner past Caballero.

Havertz came close in the 11-minute after Werner’s drill on the right fed the 26-shirted man. He powered the ball with his left foot which tested Johnstone to parry the ball to safety.

Robinson doubled the lead in the 25-minute after Thiago Silva’s mess as the last man.

The former PSG player was on the ball deep but poorly controlled it after he received a pass to allow Robinson to pounce. He took four touches to drive forward and compose himself before slotting under Caballero.

Three minutes later, the Baggies were three goals ahead, kind courtesy of Bartley. The West Brom player turned home a Furlong’s connect from Pereira’s corner to wrap the first half in their favour.

Azpilicueta replaced Alonso, while Hudson-Odoi took the place of Kovacic to begin the second half.

Mount pulled a goal back in the 55-minute before Hudson Odoi slotted a fine effort into the far right corner past Johnstone for Chelsea’s second.

It was all Chelsea in the final minutes, the Blues pushed West Brom in their own half and pressed for the third goal.

The comeback was confirmed after Robson-Kanu's poor clearance from another corner was hooked back into the middle by Werner, where Johnstone parried into the path of Abraham, who cheaply slotted into an empty net.

After a brief review for a potential handball, the goal was allowed to stand.

A first draw of the 2020/21 season moves Chelsea to sixth with four points. West Brom's first point moves them out of the bottom three.
