Everton have occupied the top of the Premier League table with nine points after three successive wins for the first time since 1993/94.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park with Dominic Calvert Lewin extending his goal-scoring numbers to five in three games.

Roy Hodgson made a change after their 3-1 win against Man Utd last weekend with summer signing Eberechi Eze making his first Premier League start in place of Jeffrey Schlupp.

Unsurprisingly, Carlo Ancelotti names the same XI that started against West Brom last weekend with James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison lining up in a strong Everton attack.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin put Everton ahead on 10 minutes with a first-time finish. Former Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez begun the buildup and fed Coleman down the right flank and it was an impressive cross into the area from the captain.

The in-form striker then tapped the ball home to put the Toffees ahead in South London.

Palace equalized 16 minutes later after a lovely header from Kouyate.

It was a great corner delivery from Townsend and the midfielder rose above the pack to nod the ball home.

Richarlison restored Everton's lead from the spot five minutes before half-time after referee Kevin Friend had awarded a penalty for handball. With the play having already gone halfway back down the field, it took a while to set things up at the other end.

Richarlison waited patiently and when the whistle was blown the Brazilian powered the ball into the top left corner.

The second half produced no goals despite efforts to level the scores by the home side. The match ended in favour of Carlo Ancelotti’s men who were too determined for the three points.

Crystal Palace have gone 12 Premier League games without a win against Everton, losing six and drawing six since a 3-2 win at Goodison Park in September 2014.
