Everton frustrate Foxes

Carlo Ancelotti’s side obstructed Leicester City from climbing top after a 2-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium.

The Toffees move two points off the top with a second win against one of last season's top six inside five days.

Richarlison gave Everton the lead - the Brazilian took a bit of a run from the left corner of the box into the yard, turned inside Justin and went for goal from a tight angle. The ball bounced right in front of Schmeichel, who palmed it into the corner to hand Everton the lead.

Leicester struggled to break the Toffees defence and were denied from registering a shot on target, falling further by Holgate’s second goal.

The Englishman doubled the visitors' advantage in the 72-minute when Sigurdsson's corner was headed goalwards by Mina and kept out by Schmeichel. The Goalkeeper did well to keep out Calvert-Lewin's second effort too but the defenders were caught ball watching when Holgate reacted quickly to grab the second goal for Ancelotti’s side.
