Ekumfi Dunkwa arrest goat thief, lynch and strip him naked

The community did not inform the police but beat him and leave him to go free following reports of goat theft in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.

A 37-year suspected goat thief called Godwin Amuzu who claims he stays at Mankessim Adumadze but comes from Akatse in the Volta Region has been lynched and stripped naked for goats theft activities at Ekumfi Dunkwa in Ekumfi District of the Central Region.

The suspect was found with maize in a sack used for trapping the goats.

One Mr Dennis, a landlord, told Central Regional Soireenews correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful that one of his tenants informed him that her husband on his way from the toilet, saw a stranger snaring the animals with corn, the tactics employed by goat thieves.

The landlord then quickly trace him with some people in the community and arrested him.

The landlord lamented that his goats were more than 40  but thieves have stolen more than half therefore he has given up on rearing as most of his goats no more sleep in the pen.

Central Regional Soireenews correspondent spoke to the suspect whose name is Godwin and a Mason working with a man called David.

He narrated that he is not a thief but came to a nearby town to fill a house under construction.

Some men questioned him about what he was doing with the maize but he said it is a direction from his gods. He explained that whenever he recites some words and consume 7 of the maize seeds, he communicates with his gods to speak to him.

The community did not inform the police and took matters into their hands by lynching him severely.
