Overloading Transformers without experts' advice is dangerous- VRA-NEDCo cautions

The Customer service officer at the VRA NEDCO Sunyani,  Alhaji Rashid Gyinae has cautioned against the overloading of Transformers saying it can cause a fire.

He said, " it is bad behavior to load transformers without the notice of experts".

Speaking on Ark in the morning monitored, He gave an instance where an overloaded transformer at Nkwabeng North nearly created fire.

He said the full capacity of the Transformer being 100% capacity should not hit the full point for safety means.

He, therefore, advises the public to at all times come to their outfit to help limit such risks.

The Supervising Accounting Assistant at VRA/NEDCo Sunyanni, Williams Opoku also indicated that the service has now introduced the new digital platform which enables customers to purchase power through their mobile phones without having to join long queues at various vending points.

He said these new smart meters make this possible, calling on customers to take advantage of the new system which makes things easier for all.
