Eid-ul-fitr celebrates in Northern Region calls for end of chieftaincy conflict

Today Monday, 2nd May 2022 Muslims in the Northern Region observed the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration to mark the end of the 2022 Ramadan.

At the Tamale Jubilee Park, celebrates from all walks of life joined the Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Salam Ahmed in the Eid prayers.

In his sermon, Sheikh Abdul Salam urged Muslims in the region to uphold the core principles of Islam.

He tasked the youth to eschew ill social vices that have no benefit to the Ghanaian citizen.

Some of the celebrates share their Eid-ul-Fitr views with the news team, with some calling for the end of chieftaincy conflict in the region.

According to them, the continuous chieftaincy conflict is causing the development of the region and thus driving away investors.

A celebrate, Mr. Mohammed said millions of Ghana cedis have been lost in the previous years due to the standoff.

Eid-ul-Fitr is the celebration that Muslims around the globe observe after fasting for 29 or 30 days in the month of Ramadan.

During Eid al-Fitr, Muslims take part in special morning prayers, greet each other with formal embraces and offer each other greetings of “Eid Mubarak,” or “Have a blessed Eid.”

Some gather with family and friends, give gifts to children, and prepare and eat special meals in giving thanks to Allah for his everlasting mercies throughout the year.
