Firearms Boom  In Ga Tettegu!—As Plot To Kill Chief and Others Exposed

TETTEGU, the fishing community under the Ngleshie Alata (James Town) Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region is now becoming a hot destination for the use of sophisticated weapons by some notorious thugs, who are vigilante youth groups working in the league with some unaccredited traditional office holders in Ga State, the Soireenews.com investigations have established.

The news outlet has gathered that these firearms were being used by some vigilante youths in Tettegu who have threatened to visit mayhem at some innocent people including the Divisional Chief of the area, Nii Kofi Kumah I and his current acting Stool Secretary, Mr Mawunyo.

Currently, according to information available to this news outlet, these thugs have threatened to deal with the Stool Secretary of the chief, Mr Mawunyo by hook or by crook because he has been leaking their vital secrets to the chief of Tettegu on their plans to end the life of the chief.

However, Soireenews.com understands that these thugs in old Tettegu are wrongly holding these firearms at the time that the government through the Ministry of Defence has given warning to all persons in possession of illegal weapons in the country to handover to the police.

Information available to this news outlet indicates that after these thugs used the firearms to cause confusion or innocent people in Tettegu they would quickly go to hide the weapons in Bortianor.

The Tettegu community, this news outlet discovered, is seriously being plagued by all manner of criminal activities, including armed robberies, gambling, cyber fraud and alcoholism.

Although it is an offence under the Arms and Ammunition Act 1962 Section 118 (6) to posse firearms without licence, our sources alleged that many firearms are in the wrong hands of these violet youths in Tettegu.

Following this development, the resident sources stressed the need for government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately impress upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Security Minister to intervene and retrieve all the illegal guns/firearms and dozens of cutlasses in the possession of these notorious thugs in Tettegu and its environs.

They further called on arrest of these abovementioned persons to face the law of this country.

Thousands of youth calling itself Concerned Citizens of Tettegu who disclosed this to journalists noted that some of these same violent persons at Tettegu went to a funeral at Gomoa-Akoti in the Central Region to make a very life- threatening statement that if the court didn't allow them to win the ongoing murder case of business man against them, the residents in Tettegu would be damaged roughly.

"We are saying that the two notorious thugs--Quashie Dakudzi and Micheal who were arrested by the police officers with the Weija District Police Command for stabbing and killing Mr Emmanuel Kofi Korbly at his rented house in Tettegu are the same men who were arrested sometime ago for killing an innocent man at Tettegu main Land fill site called Borla Site recently," the citizens told the journalists.

They stated that "this same murder case involving these thugs--Quashie Dakudzi and Micheal is in the law court as we speak now, but the truth of the matter is that the Weija Court of competent jurisdiction has not done anything about the case up to date."

Addressing a press conference in Accra, the spokesperson for the youth group, Mr Agbesi Mikpordzi Agbotsuvi, noted that: " We the Concerned Citizens of Tettegu are now ready to reveal the whole secret behind the gruesome murdered of an businessman, Mr Emmanuel Kofi Korbly, popularly known as Clean Heart."

According to the citizens, it has emerged that the secret meetings of the these thugs who had allegedly killed Emmanuel Kofi Korbly that the businessman was not the rightful person they have targeted to kill but a different one 

These thugs were quoted to have started that:

"Infact Emmanuel Kofi Korbly was not the real person we have targeted before our leaders wrongly went to kill him in cold blood."

These thugs were reported to have said in their meetings that:" their sinister plans had started long before the Queen-mother of Tettegu, Naa Kafui Kuwonu died.

Their statements continued that; "Infact there are plans to deal with the Chief of Tettegu, Nii Kofi Kumah I and these plans were known to the late queen mother of Tettegu. The plan was that after we finish with Nii Kofi Kumah l, we should go on to attack or face one Willie, a poultry farmer at the Tettegu. 

"But unfortunately the queen mother of Tettegu Naa Kafui Kuwonu was dead. Infact it was Naa Kafui Kuwonu who allegedly planned these evil plans with us to deal with Nii Kofi Kumah I, so that could take over the whole Tettegu. 

"Naa Kafui Kuwonu collected GH¢ 64 million cedis from us, and Akpeteshie two gallons and then, the late queen mother of Tettegu gave all that fiscal cash and drinks to Asafoatse of Weija, Nii Ayi Pampamku. "...all these items were given to Asafoatse of Weija, Nii Ayi Pampamku so that he could find all means to deal with Nii Kofi Kumah I."

They added that now Concerned Citizens of Tettegu are saying that if Nii Kofi Kunah I has any thanksgiving to offer in this matter, then he should thank the Kasoa Toll Booth Police Commander," the citizens of Tettegu journalists.

According to Concerned Citizens of Tettegu, they were saying that the Kasoa Toll Booth Police Commander should be given a praise

 in this matter.

"This is because the senor police officer has played an instrumental role of sending team of police officers to Tetregu to maintain peace and order during the time of the final funeral rites of both the wife and daughter of Nii Kofi Kumah I which has made prevented these thugs to attack the chief and his kinsmen," the citizens explained.

They stated that the thugs were reported to have said that Nii Kofi Kumah decision to bring the police officers to Tettegu to control the security has absolutely save him not to be attacked by them.

"So Nii Kofi Kumah I has to be fast and alert the police, else the bad plans we hatched for him would go through at the time that the funeral of his wife and his daughter. The Tettegu chief has to be fast so that the bad plans of our leaders will fail," the thugs were quoted to have said in their meetings but these information were intercepted by the citizens of the area who had made them public.

All the secrets will surely come out one by one,, the citizens noted adding that the thugs were caught saying that the wife of businessman who was killed in Tettegu is also one of girlfriend to one our chiefs who was recently installed and he is among us."

All the offensive tools, gadgets and firearms and ammunition are from our leaders and that we will mention their names one by one at the appropriate times," the thugs said in their meetings.

The thugs, according to the citizens, mentioned the name of some of their leaders as Tweke Jaka,Kotoka,Guns Repairer, Ebenezer, an elder for our group responsible for the killings.

"Anytime we do bad things, Asafoatse of Weija, Nii Ayi Pampamku leads us to the police station to set us free by influencing the police with the goodies.The knives the late Queen mother of Tettegu distributed to us to use to cause confusion, it was that same knives that during the funeral rites of the late Queen mother, one of our people wanted to use to stab some people from Aplaku community at the funeral ground of the late queen mother at Tettegu," the thugs were further quoted.

They stated that "this same murder case involving thugs--Quashie Dakudzi and Micheal is in the law court as we speak now, but the truth of the matter is that the Weija Court of competent jurisdiction has not done anything about the case up to date."

According to them, it is very worry that the Weija Court that this killing case of the man 

at Tettegu Landfill site went, released or discharged the murder kingpin, Quashie  Dakudzi and his accomplices to the surprise to everyone living in Tettegu.

They pointed out that this same Quashie  Dakudzi was arrested by the police for involvement in killing of Emmanuel Kofi Korbly at Tettegu a couple of weeks ago.

The residents pointed out that the pieces of information available to them have indicated that Mr Quarshie has good relationship with some senior police officers with the Weija District Police Command.

"We are saying that Quarshie is a friend to some crime police officers, police officers with the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) at Weija District Police Command. For which Quarshie,'s pay master, Asafoatse of Weija always played a leading role in securing him bails anytime he was involved or his groups are involved in crimes, particularly the crimes which are related to the harm of human life," they disclosed.

They revealed that Nii Ayi Pampamku I, has been noted in Tettegu and its adjoining communities of  intervening in all cases involving hard criminal acts by ensuring that he secured bails for the penetrators who had committed such serious acts. 

They stressed that it has been spreading in Tettegu enclave that the Weija Asafoatse is consulting senior police in both Ghana Police Headquarters and Weija District Police Command to ensure Mr Quarshie and accomplices are being released or granted bail at all course after he was arrested for involving in killing of Emmanuel at Tettegu.

"This because his pay master was to have made several calls to senior police officers at the Ghana Police Service headquarters in IGP office "but we are looking on how far the police handle this murder case involving by Mr Quarshie."

The residents called on the police officers with the Weija District Police Command to be proactive of arresting and prosecuting of the hard criminals of Tettegu and its adjoining community to help promote peace and harmony in these areas.

"We are calling on the IGP to impress upon the police officers with the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of Weija District Police Command to be focusing or very proactive in prosecuting the criminal cases in Tettegu than extorting goodies from those who had committed the criminal acts to let them go free with their criminal activities," the residents told police officers.

"The police officers in Weija should be keen on prosecuting criminal or murder suspects in Tettegu and that they should not arrest the notorious murder criminals and allowed them to be granted bail to go scot-free," the residents noted.

They further stressed the need for government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately impress upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Security Minister to intervene and retrieve all the illegal guns/firearms and dozens of cutlasses in the possession of some notorious thugs in Tettegu and its environs.

According to them, President Akufo-Addo intervention is the surest way in solving the incessant killing of innocent people with guns by the notorious thugs in the area.

They stressed that it is a high time for the 

government of President Akufo-Addo to impress upon the police to swoop the Tettegu enclave to retrieve all the guns and offensive weapons that these penetrators were using to kill innocent people in the area.

"We have two communities in Tettegu, ie new and old Tettegu and it is always the old Tettegu that the killing incidents of innocent persons are happening in the Ga State. So the IGP must wake up and do something about heartbreaking problem in our area," the residents raised an alarm.

"We saying that if we have been given the chance we can lead the national security personnel to Bortianor to get the boys who are keeping the offensive weapons and other dangerous gadgets at their hideouts," the citizens revealed.
