The drivers observed the commitment of the government constructing various streetlights and roads across the country, this will aid "us in our daily routine and keep our vehicles in shape since we drive on a smooth road."

Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana has kicked the poor street lighting system and 
deep potholes being scattered across the country and called on the state authorities to fix the pressing problems.
The drivers observed the commitment of the government constructing various streetlights and roads across the country, this will aid "us in our daily routine and keep our vehicles in shape since we drive on a smooth road."
The association applauds the government, but if roads are been constructed and its not maintained coupled with darkness, its a disaster. 
"As an association dark streets have become a great concern to our drivers and other motorists. 
'If the streets do not have proper illumination, driving at night becomes a challenge for motorists and pedestrians especially when you are not familiar with the road it is easy to get stuck in a pothole or hit another car," the drivers noted in a press statement issued on Monday.
According to the drivers, "We pay money for these lights to be fixed and maintained but authorities responsible keep ignoring their obligation."
"Another worry is that, should your car develops a fault on this dark streets, you will easily be attacked by thiefs unknowingly because the streets are dark. 
"Also we would like to call as matter of urgency fix pot holes on out various highway," the stressed.
According to them, deep pothole causes damage to essential parts of our vehicles and also causing drivers to lose control of their cars, leading to unwanted road crashes with its concomitant injuries. 
The statement said "This is a worrying situation which need and urgent attention as we gear towards the Christmas festive season many will be travelling hence to prevent accidents authorities need to start fixing these challenges."
