A 63-year-old Akwasi Appau is battling for his life after his friend, Wofa Yaw locally known as 'Kofie-know, a drinking spot operator also in his 60s inflicted cutlass wounds on him at Assin Ninkyiso in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
The Assembly member for the area, Mr. Villinke Mohammed explaining the incident to the Journalists indicated that the suspect couldn't get change for the victim and decided to keep the money. 
This eventually resulted in a serious scuffle in which the victim bit the finger of the suspect "Kofie-Kowu."
After the separation of the fight, the suspect, "Kofie Kowu" went for Machete and inflicted on the victim, Akwasi Appau when he had returned to the spot for his mobile phone.
Ambulance conveyed him to the St. Francis Hospital in Assin Fosu for treatment when he was bleeding profusely, but was later referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi due to the higher degree of the injury. 
Meanwhile, Hon Vilinke appealed to the police in Assin Breku not to buy the appeal of some traditional leaders and parents who usually plead on behalf of suspects to be released. 
According to him, such behavior serves as fertile grounds for violence and deviant behavior.
He also admonished the youth to embrace skills acquisition to better their lives and their respective families.
