Dr. Duffuor-EIB Former workers demand 9-months salary arrears

Former workers of Dr. Kwabena Duffour's Excellence In Broadcasting brand (EIB brand) are demanding a-9-month arrears owed them.

Whereas a section of the former workers are those who voluntarily resigned from the EIB brand due to non payment of salaries covering 2019 and 2021 others were due to collapse of the Daily Heritage Newspaper.

Daily, Heritage was one of the most vibrant newspapers leading to the December 2020 general election.

However, a deep throat informant says after series of publications emerged prior to Dr. Duffuor's intention to contest for the flagbearership position of his party and infamous interview on Asaase Radio, he indicated that EIB does not owe workers or former workers.

In contrast, an amount close to GHC 300,000.00 was release to pay workers.

The informant further revealed that the office of Dr. Duffuor had ordered for the comprehensive details of all workers owed by the company but it was evident that the money, some management of EIB led by Nathan Kwabena Adisi popularly known as Borla Ray intentionally removed the details of former employees owed by EIB.

The management of EIB submitted details of only employees still working with the company and ignored close to 50 individuals who have tireless worked day and night to raise EIB to it current status.

What is even more annoying is the fact that, among those still working, the company engaged in selective justice by paying some of the organisation and left workers who were migrated from the Daily Heritage Newspaper to GhOne TV and part of Kasapa FM workers at the blind side of chairman.

“During the time of resignation, the management of EIB assured that the financial status of the company was not stable at that time to pay us off and therefore anytime they pay substantive workers ours would be honored but close to four years now, my nine (9) months salary arrears has not been paid and all effort to compel management to pay has fallen on death ears,” one of the former workers lamented.

He continue, “not even a petition send to Chairman’s campaign office at Osu near Ghana Institute of Journalism before his vetting to become flagbearer of the NDC few months ago received any attention.”

“We are also aware that some other group of former staff are currently in court for the past two years try to compel the company to pay them their salary arrears but the fact of the whole story is that how much is even the salary to extend of starting or initiating a court process and how many years will this still take,” he soberly stated.

“We are therefore appealing to Dr. Duffuor to consider the current economic situation in the country and pay us our hard end salary arrears.”

When contacted, some of the aggrieved workers threatened to picket at his resident at Airport Residential area if nothing is done to pay all outstanding arrears.
