Dormaa West  DCE Educates  Tricycle Owners  And Riders To Pay Taxes
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa West District Assembly in the Bono Region, Hon. Francis Kwadwo Oppong has indicated his outfit's commitment to work closely with the assembly members to educate the people on their tax obligation to boost revenue collection for development.

He said, “The people will have to be educated on the need to pay their taxes and also to help mobilize more revenue and resources to enable the various assemblies to initiate more projects.”
They noted that the district assemblies could not depend on the common fund alone for the development.

Mincing no word, the DCE called on the people in the district not to condone and connive with revenue collectors to cheat the assembly.
He said the assembly needs funds to undertake development projects and they would be doing a great de-service and harm to the assembly if they refused to honor their taxes obligation.
Mr. Oppong made the call when he together with the Head of Departments at the Dormaa West District Assembly held a meeting with the motor tricycle owners and riders popularly known as PRAGYA Owners and riders at the District Assembly Hall.
The meeting was aimed at sensitizing the motor tricycle owners and riders on the need to pay a levy to generate revenue for the smooth running of the District.

The Assembly said each PRAGYA will pay a levy of GH¢ 1 each working day and an embossment fee.
The Assembly assisted the Pragya association to elect its executive; thus,  Chairman, vice chairman, secretary, organizer, and treasurer.
A representative from the Dormaa West District police command was in their midst to educate them on motor traffic regulations.
After their election, the newly elected chairman who doubles as the former Assemblymember, Mr. Isaka Shai thanked the DCE and his departmental heads for the sensitization.

He, therefore, assured the Assembly his outfit will work hand in hand with the Assembly and the police to avoid possible contravention of the law.
