Dormaa West Assembly To Foot Medical  Bills For Victims In Heavy Rainstorm Disaster In Nkrankwanta

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Dormaa West District Assembly Dormaa in Bono Region, Mr Francis K. Frimpon has stated categorically the Assembly is going to foot the medical treatment bills for the victims of the heavy rainstorm which has caused severe havoc in Nkrankwanta in the evening on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Dormaa West District Assembly Dormaa in Bono Region, Mr Francis K. Frimpon has stated categorically the Assembly is going to foot the medical treatment bills for the victims of the heavy rainstorm which has caused severe havoc in Nkrankwanta in the evening on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
 
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com via a telephone call, the DCE confirmed that before the rainstorm, there was a heavy wind blew that destroyed the building of many structures including the roofing sheets of the school in the area.
He pointed out that when his attention was drawn to the incident he called to report the incident to the representative of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) officer at Dormaa West District who informed him that he visited the disaster scenes and has already reported the incident to the National Coordinating Director of the NADMO for prompt actions to be taken to support the victims.
Following this development, the DCE stated that he together with the members of the Dormaa West District Security Community (DISEC), Dormaa West Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Dormaa West District Police Commander visited the affected students on the admission of the hospital.
He pointed out that they visited the hospital to see the health condition of the affected students.
 
During the visit, he pointed out that they met the Medical Officer in charge of the hospital and the Dormaa West District Director of the Ghana Health Service who informed them that the students had responded to the medical treatments.
 
The DCE noted that the hospital authorities assured them that the conditions of the students are very stable and that there was t non-cause of alarm.
"We had the report that there are a lot of casualties in the township itself so we have also visited the civilians who were affected on Friday, March 4, 2022, through the rainstorm to have the first hands information about their problems and that we would take measures to support the victims," he revealed.
He indicated that the extent of damage will be ascertained as his men will work throughout the night.
A heavy rainstorm Thursday, March 3, 2022 afternoon has caused severe Nkrankwanta Senior High Secondary School to some structures within the Nkrankwanta, the district capital of the Dormaa West in the Bono Region.
The one-hour-30 minutes rainstorm which started from 4 pm to 6 pm this evening caused severe havoc to the building structures of Nkrankwanta Senior High Secondary School classroom blocks. The roofing sheets of some of the classrooms of the school were completely ripped off.
The Soireenews.com gathered the about an hour-30 minutes downpour, brought down giant billboards, ripped off buildings and uprooted trees in parts of the town.
Also, in Nkrankwanta township over 100 buildings have been roofed off in the area, affecting the households in the area.
The heartbreaking incident, according to the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Dormaa West District Assembly Dormaa West District Assembly, Mr Francis K. Frimpong resulted in the injuries of 27 female students who were hospitalized at Dormaa West District Hospital responding treatment to the medical treatments.
The DCE added that the MTN Mobile Money transfer merchant was also sustained injuries after the wing lifted his kiosk and destroyed it. He has rushed to Dormaa West District treated and discharged.
