NDC Rubbishes Report Of Mahama Payment Of US$2000 To Nhyira FM Journalist
The Ashanti Regional Communications Office of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set the record straight on the alleged US $2000 paid by Former President Mahama to Nhyira FM’s Nana Kwadwo Jantuah.
A statement released and signed by the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of NDC, Mr. Abass Nurudeen and  reads;
“I have taken notice of an alleged audio recording of a purported conversation between one Julius Agahowa and a popular social media activist Mr. Appiah Stadium in which the two are heard engaged in an unholy misadventure of calumny and character assassination against some individuals and myself.”
He added that apart from the obvious concocted lies and malice-laden effusions which does not merit any serious rejoinder,there are other damning allegations and fabricated lies made against other reputable personalities which cannot be swept under the carpet.
In the said audio,an allegation is made that l was at some point detailed to deliver an amount of 2,000 dollars to Nana Kwadwo Jantuah,Morning show host of Nhyira Fm, ostensibly to influence his work as a journalist. He remarked.
According to Nurudeen Abass, this unfortunate allegation is nothing but a barefaced lie cooked in the pit of hell with the obvious intent of courting hatred and animosity towards my person.
“In fact,Nana Jantuah is doing the NDC no favours in his work as a journalist for which reason he has to be appreciated. And at no point in my young political career have l sought to materially induce any journalist,Nana Jantuah included,to bend the ethics of journalism in favour of the NDC.” He added.
According to him, it is unfortunate that some elements within will join hands with unfriendly forces in a hostile political terrain such as ours to give Ashanti NDC this bad publicity at a time we are making giant strides with our membership registration drive.
Mr. Abass declared that there is not a single word of truth in that audio recording and all the allegations made therein. He urged the general public to treat it with the contempt it deserves.
“For in the battle between good and evil.Evil may claim early victory but good shall certainly prevail over evil," he added.
