Danger Looms As Widespread Blackout Hits Accra Again --Residents Angry  At Government
The Soireenews.com can report without fear that there is a widespread power outage in parts of Accra, making the aggrieved residents to slam the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the power outage.
The lights went off around 9: pm in some affected areas in Accra on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
It is, however, unclear the reason for today’s power cut in parts of the capital since the government through the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has failed to inform the general public about the blackout.
According to the residents, some parts of Accra have been experiencing widespread power cuts for about a week now with intermittent power outages almost every other night.
Some affected residents around Kwashiema , Santa Maria, Achimota, Odonkor and Lapaz described the current power situation as worrying since the state power regulatory institutions have failed to inform them to be prepared before the power cut.
Some of the residents also called on the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to, as immediately make a public a load-shedding time-table to help them effectively plan and organize their lives.
“We have been experiencing this blackout since last weekend, selling has become very difficult for us because we rely on our phone and when it goes off we struggle. Government should make public announcements on the issue,” the residents stressed.
