Critics of my “Bathroom Singer” comments are ignorant - Kaywa Fully explains what he meant
Kaywa

Ghanaian producer and judge at the 9th MTN Hitmaker Music Reality Show, Kaywa, has defended himself from the critics who have been bashing him for his "Bathroom Singer" remark towards a lady who was auditioned on the show.

The producer, who is also a pastor, called the lady from cape coast a "bathroom singer" after she had failed to impress him with her rendition of a Pat Thomas and Adina track. Kaywa mentioned that she did not prepare for the audition and could not have made him no matter how talented she was.

Fans of the show were quick to launch abuses at him for what seemed like very harsh comments towards the "poor lady".

Kaywa has now fully explained what he meant by being a "bathroom singer".

The pastor explained that he never meant to insult the lady as it goes against everything he stands for. The Highly Spiritual Music boss fully attributed the abuses to the ignorance of the fans.

He admitted that his words must have sounded like insults to the untrained ear, but people who know music know that he was actually testifying to the ability of her voice.

Read his full explanation below.

"So I see inexperienced people sliding into my DM to insult me because I called someone a “bathroom singer” Bathroom singing, singing in the bath, or singing in the shower, is a widespread phenomenon. it’s a term used to describe Passionate music lovers who need more training to become professional singers .."

"now THIS IS WHY...the bathroom creates an aurally reflective pleasing acoustic environment, making you sound better, whereas you need more training to become a Pro singer...the bathroom ambience is very deceptive, the room is very enclosed hence, the acoustics in the room makes u sound better,
You can't ask for a better sound system than a bathroom........"

"Because bathroom tiles don't absorb sound, your voice bounces back and forth around the room before fading away. And because the shower is a small space, it boosts your voice and even adds a little bass and a natural reverb, making your singing sound more powerful...
So it actually makes you confident, but to professional ears, YOU NEED MORE TRAINING TO BECOME A PRO SINGER...."

"It is important to understand clearly the criterion we apply as judges to arrive at an ultimate unanimous decision to choose a Hitmaker!...it is frequently misapprehended....."

"so pls, I didn’t insult anyone(my values doesn’t even permit that )...it only means you need more training ...if telling someone she needs more training an insult, then I’m sorry...BE WELL INFORMED!
