Philippe Coutinho will be part of Ronald Koeman’s new Barcelona team according to Marca.

The Brazilian returned from Bayern after helping the Bundesliga side clinch the treble including the Champions League trophy in Portugal in Lisbon.

The former Liverpool man scored two in three minutes against his former side in the quarterfinals of the European tournament, which saw Barcelona humiliated by 8-2, exiting them from the competition for the third consecutive time in a knockout stage.

Bayern Munich earlier made it clear to Barcelona that they will not activate his 120m euro option to buy clause when his loan expires after the season.

With three years remaining in his contract having penned a five-year deal when he made a move from Anfield, the player returned to training ahead of the Spanish opening season.

Koeman has communicated to the board that the 28-year old is part of his plans and wants him for the team therefore any possible loan moves for the player have been ruled out by the Blaugranas.

With Messi staying for the new La Liga season, if Coutinho is handed his favorite position as an attacking midfielder, he would excel under Ronald Koeman following his earlier role under Ernesto Valverde as a winger where his role was more limited.
