England football team has been receiving enormous support from the Windsor and Maidenhead council this week ahead of a crunch Euro 2020 semi-final match against Denmark tonight.

England are due to play Denmark at Wembley in the second semi-finals of the European Championship, with the winners facing a date with Italy at the same venue on Sunday.

To show its support for the Three Lions, the Royal Borough council has been flying a St George’s Flag from both Maidenhead Town Hall and Windsor Guildhall all day today.

This is the first time that England have reached the semi-final of the Euros since the tournament held in the country back in 1996 when they lost on penalties against Germany.

It is, however, their second successive semi-final appearance at a major tournament after appearing at the same stage during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Danes have been quite remarkable in the field of play after their first two losses in the group stage but have managed to come out victoriously against Wales and the Czech Republic in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively.

Denmark will now face a tougher opposition who has kept a clean sheet in all their matches.

Tonight encounter between England and Denmark will be a determining factor for one of the teams to progress to the finals of EURO 2020 and if possible win gold.
