Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana Takes On Bawumia For Disrespecting Driving Profession
THE Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has landed himself in a big trouble for disrespecting the profession of commercial drivers in the country.

Dr Bawumia has incurred the wrath of
the Concerned Drivers Association
Of Ghana (C-DAG) who had took him on
for attacking integrity of the drivers.
"We are more perturbed about the recent behavior of the Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia who appears to be mocking our noble profession," they expressed worry.
According to them, steering wheels are only customarily presented or placed before our deceased colleagues when they are laid in state.

"But the Vice President’s penchant for steering wheels to be placed before him at campaign rallies in recent times smacks of mockery of our noble profession as he’s not a deceased driver," they worried .
The drivers calling on Dr Bawumia to desist from the act especially when he has supervised an ailing economy that has placed drivers in extreme hardship.
"We are very sure that the spirits of our deceased colleagues are not at peace with him," the leaders of the Association in the persons Akwadaa Nyame- Ashanti Regional Chairman, Nii Ashie- Greater Accra Regional Chairman, C-DAG and Kwesi Arhin- Central Regional Chairman said these in a press statement copied to Soireenews.com.
According to the statement, the executives of the Association noted that they have become aware of a disturbing happening in Gomoa Ojobi where a patient receiving treatment from the Trauma and Specialist Hospital was dumped and left to die.
They indicated that it is also alleged that the patient was abandoned at the road side by an
ambulance belonging to the hospital.
They fumed that As drivers, we are disgusted by the behavior of the ambulance driver and demanding for him to be sanctioned as his action is inhumane.
The drivers suggested that he could have refused to carry out the orders and inform appropriate authorities.
"For a person who handles an important vehicle such as an ambulance we suggest he
had have been more professional and show empathy towards humans.
"We are thus calling on the National Ambulance Service and other relevant authorities to identify the said driver and apply sanctions against him.
