Manchester City are in talks with Kevin De Bruyne over a long term contract at the Etihad.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer the midfielder a new deal that would see him double his £6 million-per-year salary and according to James Ducker of the Daily Telegraph, while the Belgium international still has four years left on his deal, City wants to reward his tremendous recent form.

The former Chelsea player, who joined from Wolfsburg in August 2015 in a club-record £55 million ($67m) deal is reported to be happy playing under Pep Guardiola and negotiations with his representatives and Manchester City which took place earlier this month are expected to continue.

The 29-year old was recently crowned as the European midfielder of the years following his impressive performance in the Champions League although his side were eliminated by Lyon in the quarter-finals stage of the competition at Lisbon.

He won the Player of the Season award in the Premier League, creating 20 remarkable assists in 35 appearances and scoring 13 goals.

Reports reveal that the Belgium international will agree on a new deal with Pep Guardiola’s side keen to conquer England and retrieve their Premier League title this season.

City have played three matches and have won, lost and drawn them.
