Liverpool’s interest in Napoli’s center back, Kalidou Koulibaly continues to mature at the return of football following a few months break due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Reds have been monitoring the Senegalese international and Le10Sport reported last month that Liverpool are in prime position to sign the defender.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are considering a summer swoop for the highly-rated 29-year old but a bid of £58m has been rejected.

The former Genk player signed a five–year contract with the Italian club in September 2016, keeping him at Napoli until 2021, meaning he has a year left on his current contract.

The winners of the Copa Italia have endured a difficult campaign in the Italian Serie A and look unlikely to qualify for Europe next season, which gives Liverpool hopes ahead of Koulibaly’s transfer which might lessen.
