CID invites Journalist for threatening Akufo-Addo
Management of Power FM have been asked to release the journalist for investigations
A journalist with Accra-based Power FM, Oheneba Boamah Bennie, has been invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly insulting and threatening the President, Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa.
Per an article by theghanareport, the radio presenter recorded a live video on his Facebook page in which he was allegedly heard insulting and issuing a series of threats to the President of the Republic of Ghana.
The police in a letter to the Management of Power FM asked for the release of Mr. Bennie to report to “Superintendent/1U at the CID Headquarters, 4th floor, Room 13 on Monday. 14/12/2020 at 1000hours” to assist with investigations.

Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa has left the country on Sunday, 13th December 2020, for Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea.
On Monday, 14th December, he attended the swearing-in ceremony of Alassane Ouattara, President-elect of Cote d’Ivoire, in Abidjan.
He will, on Tuesday, 15th December 2020, attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of Guinea, Alpha Condé.
The President will also from 15th December be in London for a private visit.
