Chirano Gold Mines Limited has appointed its first female Process Manager since its establishment some eighteen (18) years ago.

Ing (Mrs) Margaret Aniawu-Asumakah (PE GhIE) has been elevated to the Process Manager role from her current position of Process Superintendent.

Her appointment means that this is the first time a woman is occupying the process manager position at Chirano Gold Mines Ltd.

Ing Aniawu-Asumakah began her career at AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi where she held several senior positions.

In 2021, she won the Female Mining Professional Award.

She took this award at the 7th Ghana Mining Industries Awards. 

Her new position as a process manager role will involve leading the way in business unit management, and also ensuring that production and financial goals align with the company's plans.

The appointment of Ing Aniawu-Asumakah highlights Chirano Gold Mines Ltd.’s commitment to diversity in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Her journey from process superintendent to process manager marks a significant step forward for gender inclusion in the mining space.
