17-year-old JHS 3 boy, Patrick Nyarko drown while 12 escaped death in an abandoned stone quarry pit at Gomoa Asare-Krom Near Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

In an interview with soireenews, an eyewitness Stephen Nyarko says, he saw about 12 to 15 young boys and girls heading towards the pit to swim.
Stephen said, he tried all his possible best to stop them but failed and after some minutes he saw the rest running, shouting and saying that Stephen Nyarko has drowned.,
Meanwhile, the Father of the deceased Kweku expressed shock after the news broke to him.
