Central Region: NDC Agona East MP  Gives Undisclosed  Monies To all NABCO  Trainees In Her Constituency ...Who Were Failed By NPP And Akufo-Addo

The Nation Builders Corps programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems

Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East District Central Region, Honourable Queenster Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has put smiles on faces with all the trainees working under the national flagship youth employment program, Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) in her constituency.

The Nation Builders Corps program is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems.

The focus of the initiative will be solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and driving revenue mobilization and collection.

But the government has found it extremely difficult to pay monthly allowances due to the trainees on time, making some of them wallow in poverty.

However, to ensure that the trainees leave better lives in her constituency, the NDC MP who doubles as the Central Regional Deputy Minister has given all NABCO trainees in her Constituency of an undisclosed amount of money.

The donation of the cash to the trainees, according to the MP, was aimed at saving the lives of the trainees since the ruling government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has woefully failed the NABCO trainees.

According to Mrs. Sawyerr, the youths have a critical role in the development of every community and underscored the need for Ghanaians to end any form of discrimination against the youths.

"I am very sad that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has failed his promise he gave to these trainees because some of them have worked for the past six months, two months, four months and were not received monthly salaries from the promise NPP government.

"And because of that, she has a meeting to interact with all the NABCO trainees in Agona East Constituency and gave them some piece of clothes, a bag of rice, oils, an undisclosed amount of money which can sustain their living conditions for some time," she disclosed.

Mrs. Sawyerr made this statement when she organized a get-together party with the NABCO trainees in Agona East Constituency on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

She finally hinted that former President John Dramani Mahama has promised to mechanize NABCO trainees when he comes to power.

For his part, the Member of Parliament for Beam Constituency in the Oti Region, Honorable Kofi Adams who graced the occasion said, every worker deserves payment once the person has been employed.

"So if the current government under President Akufo-Addo failed to pay these youths for the past six months and above then it is not good behavior as a government," he stated.

He, therefore, commended Mrs. Sawyerr for thinking of the lives for "our NABCO trainees who have worked were not able to be paid by the current government."

He congratulated her and call on other members of parliament to do the same in their constituencies to give some hope to the NABCO trainees in Ghana since the government has failed them on their salaries.
