A heavy rainstorm that hit the Wassa Amenfi Municipality destroyed the Wassa Eshereso community school with one casualty at the scene.

The strong winds that accompanied the rain, which started between 7 pm to 8 pm, ripped off the roofing sheets of the school building from class one to three and that of the teacher's bungalow.

The chief of Eshereso community Nana Asafoatse II speaking to the media said, the newly posted teachers to the community had his bungalow's roofing ripped off and this is a worrying
 situation.

He said, he received the news around 7 pm to 8 pm with elders they visited the area to ascertain the cause of damage because it was late, they decided to come to the area again in the morning." There was this former student now in SHS who normally comes there in the evening to study, due to heavy rainfall decided to wait for the rain to stop but unfortunately was hit by the roofing and is currently on admission at the hospital."

Okyeame Kwame Gyetua called for the immediate rehabilitation of the damaged buildings and property, which could hamper teaching and learning activities in the school.
